Excel

What is Excel?

Excel files can be used in many different ways. For data integration, Excel files are used very similarly to CSV files. One row is designated the header file and the subsequent rows contain data related to each header column. The difference with Excel files to CSV is that they can have multiple pages within one file, so you can have differently defined headers and data.

Example Excel document

For data integration purposes, it’s important for the Excel file to look like this format. It presents any system with a structured way of organizing data so it can import/export properly. Excel files are not as commonly used as CSV files in data integration, but depending on the business requirements, they may be a valuable tool.

Getting started with Babelway

1. Select Excel as the message type

2. Upload a sample file

3. Babelway will do the rest

As you can see, this is a similar structure to CSV files in Babelway. The only difference is that there is support for multiple pages. Babelway allows you to take data from each page and transform it into one outbound file (or for exporting, take one file and export it in multiple pages).
